UTEP Softball vs. Middle Tennessee

My daughter Jazzy and I spent yesterday afternoon catching our first Utep softball game of the season. The Miners took on Middle Tennessee in the first game of a double header.

The Utep bats came to life after the first few innings and led the Lady Miners to a
5-3 victory over the Raiders.

Jazzy loved playing softball bingo and kept track of all the action so she could fill out her bingo  card. The game is a cool way to teach the game and keep kids involved.

The atmosphere is great for a ball game and the facilities make for a comfortable viewing experience.  I think you would be hard pressed to find a nicer facility in Conference USA.

If you are looking for an entertaining way to spend time with your family head on over to the Helen of Troy Softball Complex and catch the Lady Miners in action.  The next home game will be April 26th vs the Roadrunners of UTSA.

UTEP VS RUTGERS IN WNIT CHAMPIONSHIP

What an anazing run for coach Keitha Adams and the Utep Lady Miners in the WNIT tournament.  I had a feeling this season could be a special one but am blown away at how great things have turned out for the Lady Miners basketball program.
This run in rhe tourney and the overwhelming support they  have received from the El Paso community will definitely help with recruiting in the future. It is great to see women's basketball get a chance to be in the spotlight.
The mountain before them is great today. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights are 27-9 this year and are lead by legendary coach C. Vivian Stringer.
No matter the outcome the Lady Miners have made the great city of El Paso proud.  Go Miners! Time to bring a championship home.

Chihuahuas Win Opener!

I spent my Thursday evening with my headphones on and my radio tuned to 600 ESPN to hear the opening game of the El Paso Chihuahuas 2014-2015 season. Tim Hagerty did a great job of bringing all the action to life and the Chihuahuas came away with a 7-5 victory over the Reno Aces.
This is a great time to be a sports fan in the Sun City. The Chihuahuas have opened their season with a solid win. The Lady Miners are in the championship game of the WNIT and the Rhinos are making noise in the Thorne Cup hockey finals.
Life  in El Paso just keeps getting better and better.

El Paso Roller Derby

We have never been to a roller derby match before but think the kids would get a kick out of it.  Definitely a cool way to spend a night out with the family.
