El Paso Upcoming Running Events

Decided it was time I started to hit the pavement and run as far as my old legs could take me.  My first 5K will be next Saturday at Ascarate park.  I don't think I am 100% ready but don't want my lack of training to be an excuse for never getting started. 
Here is a list of  a few of the races  being held in El Paso in the next few weeks:

Would love to hear any suggestions for what I should add to my running music tracks that will keep me motivated on my runs.  Hope to see you put there next Saturday.  I'll be the one lying on the stretcher at the finish line. 

Upcoming Races in February

There are several great races being held in El Paso in February.

It's about time I started to lace up my shoes again and hit the pavement. The plan is to wake up at 5 each morning to get my running in before I head off to school.

I mentioned to the kids in class today that finishing a marathon was on my bucket list so now I have that extra motivation to prove to myself and them that I can do it.

I am aiming to cross marathon off my list in March by running, or crawling, in the El Paso Marathon.

Running does wonders for clearing my head and provides a healthy outlet for all the stress I carry around with me. Hopefully posting to this blog will keep me motivated and focused.

Just got info on new races from the Up and Running store in El Paso. I hope to make every one of them and am happy to see that the variety of road races is growing in El Paso.
